ATCx Automobile - Comment les outils Altair permettent de réduire les délais de développement des renforts de structures ?

Overview :

Structural car body inserts like those developed by L&L Products under the general name “CBS” (Composite Body Solutions) are widely used in today’s BiW construction at all major OEMs.

L&L Products' CBS parts improve safety, stiffness, NVH and fatigue-life of vehicles, while reducing vehicle weight and manufacturing cost.

Altair’s toolbox allows reducing part development lead times. Some tools are commonly used to free time to our engineers to optimize our solutions.

The best suited geometry, part positioning and material amount is assessed by our engineers with the help of Optistruct.

L&L Products has established a methodology, using different optimization strategies (topology, gauge) that allow a quick part definition at an early development stage.
We will introduce the CBS-technology (Composite Body Solutions), then continue with some examples of topology optimization combined with gauge optimization.

We will show also the work done to re-construct, from the topology optimization results, a geometry file “ready to print”. This was done with Inspire.

The rendering of our solutions is done with Evolve to show how we can present innovative concepts and make them more accessible to non-CAE-audience.

Our design department started to use the capabilities of Simsolid, in order to reduce number of prototypes and design robust solutions

Finally, we can highlight the interest of using Converse to fine-tune mechanical behavior of fiber reinforced thermoplastics.
